Sizing Information

These jackets are sold in US men’s sizes. We measured and checked the sizing on a selection of jackets and we find the jackets fit like most people would expect for their size. Our primary advice would be to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing.

To check your size selection by measuring, have a look at the size chart from Moose below. the chart lists the max chest for each size. You can measure your chest and then use the chart to choose a size that will be big enough.

This style of jacket doesn’t taper from chest to waist so the max belly for each size is about the same as the chest for any given size. If you have a big belly, check yourself around the belly to make sure the size you choose will work around the belly as well. It is fine if your waist is smaller because the waist is adjustable with the side straps. The arms are also adjustable to give a good fit.

Our Two Cents

The XCR jacket and pants by Moose are an off road and adventure riding waterproof shell. The jacket and pants are both waterproof and both have very good venting options.

The best way to see the features of this jacket are to look through the pictures in our photo gallery. We’ve taken shots of the pockets and vents on the jacket, so you can get a good feel for those. Also, we show you how you can stow away the entire jacket and zip it into a fanny pack you can strap around your waist. Its a great way to store the jacket when you want to go without.

This jacket does not have armor, or provisions for adding it. Riders will be wearing the protection they normally wear for off road riding with a jersey. The shell is made of sturdy nylon material so it will hold up to the normal snags and rubs encountered on the trail. And of course, being waterproof, it gives you the protection from the elements.

This jacket has zip vents in the upper chest area and also large lower torso vents that wrap around from front to back. Also, there is one large rear vent for exhaust so the air flow through the jacket will be pretty good. No insulated layers are included for winter, but you can easily use your own heavy garments to add warmth

The shell of this jacket is made with waterproof materials which are seam taped to prevent leakage. It does not have a separate waterproof liner or a bonded liner as part of its construction. The material is also noticably lighter in weight than other jacket styles in the off-road/adventure world. But the shoulders and elbows are reinforced with more heavy duty materials for crash worthiness. Since the jacket does not have a separate waterproof liner, the zippered venting on the jacket allows air to pass through the shell and directly to your skin, which is a lot more effective than water proof liners that block the flow of air. :: Paul, 11-22-17
