REV'IT! Airwave 4 Pant

We understand the importance of staying cool hot rides. Not only does your mind stay sharper behind the handlebars, but fatigue doesn’t set in as quickly, and you can thoroughly enjoy being out on the road. That’s why we created the Airwave 4, a pair of adventure sport pants – the perfect complement to the Airwave 4 jacket – that lets you effortlessly feel the breeze against your body.

Ventilation is the name of the game If the name didn’t give it away, the Airwave 4 pants are all about, you guessed it, air. Specifically directing it to the legs when taking on your next adventure. The combination of PWR|Shell mesh, ripstop, and stretch, with full ventilation down the front of the legs, and round three-quarters around back, it means you’re getting airflow to on your lower half to the nth degree.

Safety first A longstanding favorite in the collection, the Airwave 4 is a fan favorite within the ventilated pants category and has a Class AA CE certification. It also includes SEESMART hip and adjustable knee protection. Laminated reflection can also be found at the knees, so riders are more visible in low-light situations.

Sizing Information

We measured and tried on a selection of these pants and developed the table below to help you choose a size that is right for you. REVIT publishes a sizing chart but strangely they offer hip measurements rather than waist measurements, and in the US, waist measurements are the norm. Please note, the sizes listed in the chart are NOT “vanity” sized like typical jeans sold in the US (meaning jeans that measure out larger than the stated size), so buying based on a jean size maybe result in a REVIT pant choice that is too small. We recommend you either measure your waist or measure pants you already own (use the instructions below for help in measuring).

These pants are available in regular, short and tall inseam sizes, so we’ve included inseam lengths in the chart as well. The pants have adjustability of the armor height (independent of inseam length). Velcro tabs in the armor pockets allows you to set the armor at different heights in the pant leg. You can check how the armor feels on your knee when you are sitting on the bike and decide which position seems best. Neat!

Also, the pants have an adjustable strap arrangement at the waist to help you fine tune the fit. We are showing a three inch range which was about what the adjusters seemed to do.

Pant Size Waist Estimate Inseam Reg Inseam Short Inseam Tall
Small 29-31 31.5 - -
Med 31-34 32.5 31 34.5
Large 33-36 33 31.5 35
XL 35-38 33.5 32 35.5
XXL 38-41 33.5 32 35.5
XXXL 41-44 34 32 -
XXXXL 43-46 34 - -

Measurement tips: You’ll want to measure yourself fairly high up the waist because protective style pants like this are cut to ride higher on your waist than a lot of modern jean styles. Just below the navel is about the right height on the waist for measurement.

Use as overpants: These pants will likely be used as both overpants over street clothes or as pants over underwear or shorts because many riders will be wearing these in the heat of summer. Since the waist of these pants is relatively high (as discussed above) the waist will ride above the waist line of normal jeans and therefore, I don’t think you will want to up-size with the idea of using them as overpants. But, I would advise that if you are pushing the upper limit of a size or you are between sizes, to choose the larger.
