Sizing Information
These jackets are sold in US based “alpha” sizes, so selecting a size is basically pretty easy. The size Medium and XL jackets fit Huey and Dewey, our Fit Check mannequins very nicely! Also, we checked several sizes with a tape. We found the sizing to be comparable to standard men’s clothing sizes. So our primary advice would be to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing.
Alpinestars publishes a super-complicated size chart which can be used to pick a size based upon your chest and waist. We’ve condensed their chart down to make it easy to read (see below). You can use this size chart to check your own measurements against the size chart to make sure the size you select will work. Choose a size that is big enough for both your chest and belly.
The max waist of a jacket style like this is only a couple inches smaller than the max chest, so the style is very forgiving in case you have a bit of a belly, but don’t be concerned if your belly is smaller than the size listed below because this jacket has effective side waist adjustment straps.

Our Two Cents
The Alpinestars Monza Sport jacket is a textile jacket designed for sport and commuter riders.
The Monza Sport jacket is constructed of a high tensile twill material that has a unique feel. I would say it feels like a cross between a windbreaker and a cotton material. The jacket shell does block wind so maybe I’m not too far off in that comparison. Combined with the thin Nucleon Flex Plus armor this jacket will be lightweight and flexible. There are pockets to upgrade to optional Nucleon chest and back protectors as well.
There are two zippered hand pockets at the belly and one internal hook and loop storage pocket and one zippered waterproof internal storage pocket. Additionally, the removable thermal vest liner has one hook and loop storage pocket. At the waist are hook and loop adjusters so you can snug the belly down to fit if needed. Inside the rear of the jacket are two snap loops to attach the jacket to pants via the belt loops. The cuffs are a stretch knit cuff in almost a bomber jacket style with zipper to open them up if needed.
The overall styling of the Monza Sport jacket is sporty look in a lightweight jacket. The Alpinestars Monza Sport jacket is a great option for sport and commuter riders that want protection in a style that isn’t too heavy or flashy. :: Mike 03/16/2024
