Our Two Cents

I think the concept of this jacket is a swing and a miss for Scorpion. The problem is with the concept of the large torso zippers which generally align with the corresponding two zippers on the waterproof/fleece liner. They pitch the idea that you can regulate the flow of air through the jacket and liner without taking out the liner or taking the jacket off. But it seems unlikely to me that you’d get regulated air flow through three sets of zippers… they’d have to be perfectly aligned somehow, and even still, if you unzipped the outside zipper on the liner, there is still the innermost zipper you can’t reach from the outside. And to make matters worse, the length of the torso zippers are LARGE and leave gaping holes in the front torso when open (without the usual mesh backing to help hold things together). Also, I predict those open large slots would catch air and inflate/flap at speed. Sorry, but I just don’t think this will work.

And another issue: the liner installs with the fleece side to the inside which grabs your arms and wads up as you try to get it on. Fleece that grabs everything is NOT a good material for the lining of a sleeve.

Sorry, but I can’t get behind this style. :: Paul, 01-21-16
