Sizing Information

These boots are sold in US street shoe sizes. We tried these on in the shop and found them to fit true to the stated size. The width feels like “D” or Medium. The boots have a side zipper so they are easy to put on and take off (as compared to pull-ons without a zipper), but I didn’t find the instep to be particularly high or overly roomy like you find in a lot of low price boots like this. I was pleasantly surprised with how well they fit.

Our Two Cents

These new Riot boots from Z1R are really nice! We don’t sell a lot of “cruiser” styles, and I know from past experience there are a lot of “cheap” boots of this general style out in the world, but these boots feel and fit like quality boots.

The soles are very heavy duty and thick. They’ll definitely add a couple inches to your stature! Take the “View Larger Images” link above to see some shots with the ruler which shows the heel thickness and boot height.

The leather used in the boots is real cowhide and is thick and should break in nicely, although it will take some wearing. The insides are lined with a thick layer of padding under a soft nylon, so that will help with the comfort during break in.

The boots have a long inside zipper that will help you get the boots on and take them off and will eliminate at least one possible headache with fit… the issue of being able to pull on a tall boot like this. The side zipper also allows for a more close fit over the instep which I like better than the type of boot where your foot “rattles around” inside once you get them on. These aren’t like that at all. The toe and heel cup are reasonably stiffened for some protection on the bike, but a style like this isn’t built with the armor like you’ll find with street or dual sport boots… it’s just the way they are… just heavy duty soles and thick black leather.

Overall, these are a really nice boot, of good quality and also I think a reasonable price. If you don’t like some of the junky “biker boots” out there, I bet you’ll like these. :: Paul, 05-14-15
