Sizing Information

We tried on a selection of Forma boots here in the office and found the length to be about right. The width on the boots is a touch more wide than most other brands we carry. Alpinestars and TCX tend to be the most wide, but these might even be a touch wider. I’d say they are a D to E and might even work for somebody with a slightly wider foot (but don’t get carried away and think they are wide enough for a person needing a EEE or wider). So my advice would be to use the chart below to choose a size based upon your US shoe size.

Forma offers advice on choosing a size from your foot measurement. Here’s how:

1) Measure the overall length of your foot. Forma recommends placing your heel against a wall and measuring from the wall to the end of your longest toe.

2) Add 3/4” to the length of your foot

3) Using Forma’s sizing chart below, choose the smallest size boot with an insole measurement that is at least the length of your foot plus 3/4”.

Use Forma’s size selection method as a “second opinion”. Maybe you’ll find it reassuring if it matches your size choice based on street shoe size or, maybe it could be a tie breaker if you are undecided between two sizes. FWIW, Forma’s advice didn’t work for me since I have relatively short toes. I wear a 45 (known from trying on) and this method put me in a 42.

Our Two Cents

The Forma Genesis is a great looking short lace up sport boot for all types of sport and street riders. These boots are a great value too!

Wow, these new Forma boots like a LOT like a couple of similar models by Sidi and Dainese, don’t they? The quality is definitely comparable to those top two brands and the price is really good too. I’m generally careful to call out shoes like this that don’t have much protection, but I’m pleasantly surprised here. The sole has some stiffness even though it is a relatively low profile. The ankle protection is quite robust too. There are two circular protectors on each side of the ankle with ample soft padding to make them comfortable. Also, the heel and toe areas are significantly stiffened to hold up against impact or to remain firm when shifting.

I like how they’ve sculpted the shape of the top of the boot very low in the back. It allows you to flex your ankle front to back easily which you’ll be doing when shifting and braking. The laces on the boot have the recessed eyelets and they snug up easily with a good tug. And there is a Velcro strap at the top to help hold the loose ends.

I’m a fan of these boots due to the overall quality and the inexpensive price. :: Paul, 11-05-19

Forma says: For around town the new release Genesis boots are another striking design from Forma. They have CE certified protection complete with anti-crush sole, gear-lever reinforcing, heel reinforcing, and internal plastic ankle protection. The Genesis boots are super lightweight and always comfortable.

I own two other pair of Forma Adventure low boots and these are by far the smallest of the three! That makes me a little sad all size 47. I can wear super heavy socks with the Adventures and I can only wear super thin socks with these, that should be ok as they are for summer use! (Read more...)
