Broken Homme Davis 2 Trail Boots

We tried on a couple pairs of these boots in our offices and we think the length is true to size. Of course the laces offer pretty wide adjustment over the top of the foot. The overall width is “D” or medium. We advise you to choose the size you normally wear in men’s street shoes.

What? Made in America? Who does that these days? Well, it says right on the packaging “Made in America” and printed on the insoles, it proudly says “Made in California”. Well, I think that’s great actually.

The sole construction on these boots is what sets them apart from nearly any other shoe or boot in our lineup. The soles here are SUPER sturdy Vibram soles and these boots are constructed so they can be re-soled which is very rare indeed. A sturdy sole is the foundation of any good motorcycle boot and many lesser priced boots don’t have a sturdy sole. Why is that important? On a motorcycle, the rider rests their legs on the pegs, and sometimes bears their entire weight on those pegs. A boot or shoe with a flimsy sole will wear quickly and become uncomfortable as the sole “folds up”.

I can’t say enough about the quality of the leather and the construction of these boots. They are VERY NICE. They feel like something I’d expect to buy as a casual boot at Nordstroms for about three hundred bucks. They are quite stylish. And because of the excellent material throughout, they ought to last for years.

What these boots are missing. are specific motorcycle protection capabilities. The heel cup and toe box are both stiffened, but no more than any well made street shoe, and there is no armor built in either side of the ankle bones.

So why are these boots listed in motorcycle specific stores websites? Well, I’m not exactly sure except that the company makes the product in California (which is so unique) and the styling lends itself to vintage/retro riders and/or cruiser riders that probably don’t care so much about the armor features, but rather will appreciate the style and quality. So here you go folks… buy American! I think I’ll buy a pair of these boots for everyday wear. :: Paul, 09-04-19
