Noru Hakken Adventure Boot

We tried on this Noru style along with other and we find the shoes and boots to fit true to size for length. The width is Medium or C to D, and may be a bit more narrow than average.

The Hakken Adventure boots from Noru are a mid height adventure booth. Overall construction of the boot is a combination of both abrasion-resistant cowhide and synthetic leather in the upper section, a Waterproof and breathable Aqua-Barrier® inner membrane, a breathable mesh lining, billowed flex panels for added comfort and increased range of motion as well as a heavy-duty, anti-slip lugged sole. From a protection standpoint the Hakken feature a reinforced shank that adds comfort and protection, a reinforced outside toe and shifter guard, reflective rear facing panels to increase visibility, and has been impact, abrasion and transverse rigidity tested to become CE certified. Additional features include a Gaitor type top opening which helps keep out dust, water, and debris, adjustable dual MX-style buckles for increased security as well as a hook and loop top closure to accommodate a large range of calf sizes. The Hakken boot comes with a 2 year warranty.

At the time of this review the Hakken adventure boots retail for $159.99 and come in a black or brown color option. Overall considering the price point of $159 I absolutely can’t say anything bad about these boots when understanding the price range, they are easily worth their asking price and I would argue that they punch well above it. Both colors look great, but to me the brown looks really good in person, as does the overall design. The Hakken are really comfortable and feel lighter than expected, fit is as expected, I tried my usual size 12 US and absolutely no issues. Adjustability is excellent as well with the MX style buckles, unfortunately that is where my only complaint comes in, again at $159…..unbeatable, but if we forget the price for a second, the buckles do look and feel a tad cheap. Not sure that the look and feel will impact performance long term, but that is my initial impression. But even with that said, if I was told these were $200, or even $259 boots I would be accepting, so definitely worth the money and worth checking out if you are trying to get a good pair of mid height adventure boots on a budget. Lastly, the CE rating on these is 2-2-2-2 WR, yup top marks across the board. I am always all about the safety so I love to see that! :: Damir 8/20/24
