The stitching in motorcycle garments contributes greatly to the abrasion resistance of the total gear. This is why REV’IT! uses safety seams on garment areas at increased risk of impact. Safety seams have a visible as well as an invisible seam. This construction keeps the material of the outer shell together, even when the visible seam is thorn.Outer shell material:

Reflection panels ensure excellent visibility at all angles, allowing the wearer to be seen from all directions. To offer a more sophisticated look, the reflection panels are welded to the fabric. This welding process also eliminates stitching seams, making the garments safer.Certification:

We measured and tried on a selection of these pants and the main conclusion was that the pants run true in the waist as compared to REV’IT’s published sizing chart. The inseams are very also well represented in their chart.
As you can see in the chart, the pants are available in regular, short, and tall inseam sizes, so choose the inseam you normally wear in slacks or jeans. The pants also have adjustability of the armor height (independent of inseam length) which can be accessed by pulling each leg inside out. Velcro allows you set the armor in different spots and you can check how the armor feels on your knee when you are sitting on the bike and decide which position it seems best. Neat!
Also, the pants have a set of sliding waist adjusters at the waist to help you fine tune the fit. We indicate a 2” range in our chart which was about the amount we judged the adjustment range to be.

Measurement tip: You’ll want to measure yourself fairly high up the waist because protective style pants like this are cut to ride higher on your waist than a lot of modern jean styles (so relying just upon the size jeans you buy might result in motorcycle pants that are too small). Right below the navel is about the right height on the waist for measurement. For a pant leg style like this that goes over the boots, you can typically choose an inseam based on what you normally wear in jeans or slacks.
Our Two Cents
The REV’IT! Valve H2O Jacket brings cruiser style and touring functionality to a hybrid leather/textile pant that will look good just about anywhere you want to ride.
The Valve H2O uses a new CORIUM+® SMART LEATHER paired with CORIUM+® technical fabric for a perforated leather look in the key impact areas at the knees and seat as well as the medial side of the calf for grip on the bike. This CORIUM+® SMART LEATHER is fully waterproof and windproof but still breathable. The perforations in the leather allow air to flow across an internal waterproof membrane to keep you cool on hot rides. The waterproof and windproof breathable qualities extend to the rest of the chassis of the pants as well where textile takes over for a more traditional touring pant look. The textile sections have ripstop material and feature large Fidlock Aquadefence panels on the thighs that unzip and peel back to expose large mesh panels that vent directly to the interior of the pants once the thermal liner is removed.
The Valve H2O comes with a removable full length thermal liner that zips at the waist and about 6 inches up from each cuff. There are SEEFLEX™ knee protectors that are somewhat flexible but still fairly stiff and rigid as you would expect from Level 2 armor and SEESMART™ CE-level 1 hip protectors which are much more flexible. There is a single snap closure at each cuff with a storm flap that covers a zippered gusset. When open the gusset allows about 2 more inches of space to accommodate a pair of riding boots. The storm flap has a reflective strip for nighttime visibility. Adjustments at the waist are in the form of a sliding strap at each side that allows you to take in about 2.5” per side for a snug fit. The pants also have both short and long connection zippers for pairing with your favorite riding jacket (we suggest the matching REV’IT! Valve H2O Jacket, see related products below).
These pants have just about everything you could ask for, they remind me of REV’IT!’s popular Ignition series of jackets but instead of mesh they have changed it up and offered a full waterproof pant that will perform in just about any weather and look great doing it. :: Mike, 08/10/2022
