REV'IT! Xena 4 Jacket for Women

Never change a winning team, right? Well, we don’t necessarily think that’s true. Building upon the reputation of three successful generations, the Xena 4 Ladies motorcycle jacket received an update to further solidify its reputation as the go-to female sport garment in our lineup.

Tried and tested Based upon extensive research and the feedback of riders worldwide, the Xena 4 truly is a case of the best becoming better. Slight changes to the pattern means an improved fit, allowing for more freedom of movement without compromising its integrity. Its leather construction along with laser-cut perforation at the upper arms, upper back, and upper front, and stretch panels found at the front, inside arms, shoulders and waist ensure sport riders are met with the race-derived fit they’re after.

All in the family The Xena 4 Ladies jacket echoes the same design aesthetic as its siblings – the Xena 4 Pro Ladies jacket, one-piece suit, pants, and gloves. With clean lines that mimic speed (even when at a standstill), this best-selling jacket continues to woe the masses. But unlike the Xena 4 Pro Ladies or one-piece suit, it doesn’t come with the speed hump or external hard parts at the shoulders and elbows. That said, its CE AAA classification, the inclusion of a detachable body warmer, and soft edge collar not only make it a leader in safety, but also in comfort.

Sizing Information

REVIT’s women’s styles are sold in European sizes. We used a size 42 on our Fit Check Mannequin Shirley who is a standard size Large, Dress size 12. The jacket measured out correctly at 38” max. The waist sizes listed in REVIT’s standard chart are smaller than the actual sizes for each jacket. For example on the size 42 we used for the photo shoot on Shirley, , I measure the max waist at about 36”. Shirley has a waist of about 32” and it looks just fine on her. The jacket flares out a bit at the belt line to about 40”.

If you are wanting to install an airbag into your jacket, we recommend going up a size.

Our Two Cents

The REVIT Xena 4 jacket is a sport-cut mostly-leather style for sport and even amateur track use (with the matching Xena 4 pants). But the jacket is built with street use in mind too, with convenience options such as pockets, venting, and adaption options for any kind of pants. The jacket is going to be Airbag Compatible.

The Xena is a combination of materials that should give a pretty wide range of comfort for different temps. Its chassis is primarily heavy leather, so super hot temps are probably not advisable, but some of the front and back of the jacket have perforations in the leather to allow pretty good airflow. There are extensive stretch panels built into the sleeves and on the back behind the shoulders and down the sides of the torso. Those panels will let the jacket be flexible enough to move and be comfortable. Those fabric panels also serve a dual purpose to allow air to flow through. So the combination of the perforations and the fabric components will help to make this jacket comfortable in warm weather. For cooler weather use, the jacket comes with a vest type thermal liner. You can remove that vest in the summer, but in the winter you can use it to add just a bit of insulation. The best weather conditions for this jacket will be cool to warm (but not cold or hot), so I’d say about 2 to 3 seasons.

Armor inserts are included for the shoulders and elbows as standard. It’s REVIT’s CE Level 2 stuff which is very robust. The armor is a firm rubber compound and it is molded in a honeycomb pattern which allows plenty of airflow. The back protector is optional. The jacket is equipped with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). Take the link below to order. For women’s size 36 choose size 3; for 38 to 44, choose size 4, and for 46 and larger choose size 5. This jacket is AAA-Rated.

In the inside tail of the jacket is a short short rear zipper to connect to REVIT riding pants. The Xena 4 pants are the obvious choice if you want to have a 2 pc sport riding leather suit. But many people will opt to wear this jacket with riding jeans or just their own jeans and also near the rear connection zipper is a couple of snap-close loops you can use to connect the jacket to your belt or loops on your jeans. A more secure alternative to connecting the jacket to jeans is REVIT’s Safeway belt (take the link below). It’s a neat alternative. ::
