Our Two Cents

REVIT Xena 3 Ladies Gloves gloves are a long-cuff sport glove with a lot of protection for street riders. The full gauntlet works for wearing over sport/race jackets with tapered sleeve ends. Fully leather construction and significant protection are the main features.

I just finished reviewing the men’s REVIT League gloves, which seem to be a very similar product to this women’s sport glove. Both these styles are designed for sport/street riders who want the “look” of race gloves and most of the protection, but in a package is practical for everyday use. And these gloves deliver.

All the basic protection features are here: molded knuckle protector; “slider” in the heel of the hand; long gauntlet with fit adjustments and a protector for the outside of the wrist; positive closing wrist strap to secure the gloves on the hand to keep them from flying off if you fall.

The gauntlet has a large molded protection as you commonly see on race gloves. The gauntlet fit is adjustable with a dual-strap setup, also like a lot of race gloves. These gloves work best with sport/race jackets that are fitted at the wrist, but you can adjust the fit of the glove down to fit your arm more closely and you might be OK wearing these gloves under the sleeve of typical street jackets (with a non-fitted sleeve cuff).

So what makes this a “street” glove and not a race glove? Well, race gloves will have even more robust protection features, which add to the cost and make them less comfortable and less practical for everyday use. Examples: leather from Kangaroo hides, inside Kelvar liner materials, third to fourth finger “bridges” (an Alpinestars favorite), large gauntlets with more armor, overall thicker materials.

REVIT is promoting this glove with their Xena 3 sport jacket and pants and also their Xena 3 one-piece suits for “track days”. These gloves with a one piece suits on a track might be a bit of a stretch in my opinion, but I agree, they’ll work great with REVIT’s sport jackets for the street. :: Paul, 02-06-20

REVIT says: The REV’IT Xena 3 Ladies gloves offer protection and looks to match our Xena 3 Ladies one-piece suit, as well as our Xena 3 Ladies jacket and trousers combination. They offer a true women’s fit glove with racing protection, such as a hard knuckle protector, a TPU hard shell palm slider, a hard shell little finger protector, and a TPU wrist protector fitted to the double closure long cuff. Highly abrasion-resistant leather offers unsurpassed hand armor in case of an unfortunate mishap, and offers the optimal freedom of movement to get the perfect feel from the handlebars.
