REV'IT! Quantum 2 WB Jacket (Medium Only)

We tried a size Medium and an XL on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. Those are sizes they usually wear in an “American” cut jacket. This jacket from REV’IT! fits well enough and it looks sharp, but there is very minimal room left. Many brands from Europe exhibit a fit like this, such as Alpinestars. If you look at REV’IT!’s published size chart (below), you’ll see their estimate of chest size is at least a full size smaller than what you’d find in equivalent US designed clothing.

We measured each jacket and tried them on and we’ve concluded that the fit is just about one-half size smaller than what you would find in ordinary US men’s clothing. The amount the jackets are undersized is not as severe as REV’IT!’s size chart would have you believe. For most people, this means you’ll be able to buy the size you normally wear if you want a snug, European style fit. If you want a looser American fit, or if you are between sizes, choose one size larger.

Below is the REV’IT!-published chest size for each jacket’s alpha size along with our estimate of max chest and max waist/belly. This particular style has a bit of a “sport” profile to the arms, but overall, I’d describe the fit as “casual”.

The Quantum 2 WB Jacket by REVIT is a new jacket/hoody mix-up that is new for their 2021 lineup. The digital styling is sharp and the jacket is functional for all kinds of riding. The shell is a softer nylon with a windproof integrated liner. Armor is included for the shoulders and elbows and a back protector is available as an option.

With the knitted cuffs/waist and the hood, this jacket shares details with both a hoody and a bomber style jacket. The sleeves seem generously long like you find with most hoodys and they have thumb loops too. The shell material is a bit softer than the average motorcycle jacket It feels like a mix of an athletic apparel type fabric and the stiffer traditional nylon. It also has some stretch to it too. Being softer and a bit stretchy, it is very comfortable and flexible. I think the digital styling is outstanding too. Please note, the hood is not detachable, so to love this jacket, you have to love hoods too.

The shell of this jacket includes an integrated “wind barrier”. The wind barrier will make this jacket warmer than a softer material jacket like this without any sort of wind block capability. Since there isn’t any venting (other than lowering the main zipper), I think you’ll like this jacket for milder weather (but not hot weather). You can layer under the jacket with your own warm clothing to take it down to colder temps. In case you questioned it, REVIT calls the barrier here “Hydratex WindBarrier”, and I often see the Hydratex name associated with waterproof barriers used in other brands and styles, and I’m guessing this is the same or similar material but just intended to block wind rather than to waterproof since other construction features of this jacket aren’t waterproof (knitted cuffs, not waterproofed main zipper, etc).

This jacket comes with SeeSmart CE level 1 armor for the shoulders and elbows. The armor is very flexible and works with a softer shell jacket like this. The jacket has a pocket in the liner for the addition of a back protector which you can purchase with the link below.

You have the option to connect the jacket to any jeans with a couple of snap-close loops, or if you have REVIT pants, there is also a short rear zipper in the back/inside of the jacket liner.
