Our Two Cents

The Tetsuo leather jacket from Noru is a perforated and classically styled leather jacket for motorcycle riding. Overall construction of the Tetsuo is a combination of .9 to 1mm genuine drum-dyed premium cowhide leather, perforated cowhide leather at the chest and back for improved ventilation, as well as accordion stretch panels along the side of the back and elbows. For impact protection the Tetsuo includes Armanox brand CE Level 1 shoulder and elbow armor as well as a back protector pocket (back protector is purchased separately). This combination of materials and armor has earned the Tetsuo a CE AA rating.

From a comfort and convenience standpoint, the Tetsuo has a race fit, with rotated sleeves as well as pre-curved arms, abrasion resistant heavy duty 4-way stretch materials in key areas (a really good amount of stretch, making it feel quite comfortable for a race-fit leather jacket), and it comes with a two year warranty. Looking at pockets, you get two external zipper hand pockets as well as one internal, zippered, napoleon pocket. There are also strap adjustors at the waist, and zippers at the cuffs for easier entry, and speaking of the cuffs, the cuffs and collar both feature as nice, soft, material.

At the time of this review, the Tetsuo retails for $189.99 and I believe that it is a fantastic jacket for the money. Overall style is clean, minimal and a mixture between classic and race. There is a fantastic amount of stretch and perforation throughout the jacket, as well as really well placed and good amount of reflective material. The Tetsuo easily punches well above its price point and I found that it fit quite nicely in my usual size extra large. Last thing to note, is that there is a large embossed Noru logo on the lower back of the jacket, and the lower back is slightly longer than the rest of the jacket to help with coverage, my one complaint is that I did not see any short or long connection zippers, jean loop hooks or any other way to connect this jacket to a pair of riding jeans or pants. Other than that, definitely a jacket worth checking out, especially at the price point. :: Damir 8/22/24
