Sizing Information
REVIT’s women’s styles are sold in European sizes. We used a size 42 on our Fit Check Mannequin Shirley who is a standard size Large, Dress size 12. The jacket measured out correctly at 38” max. The waist sizes listed in REVIT’s standard chart are smaller than the actual sizes for each jacket. For example on the size 42 we used for the photo shoot on Shirley, , I measure the max waist at about 36”. Shirley has a waist of about 32” and it looks just fine on her. The jacket flares out a bit at the belt line to about 40”.

Our Two Cents
The REVIT Airwave 3 jacket for women is new for 2020 and is a slightly updated version of the “2” version from 2016. This is a great all-mesh street jacket good for riding in the hottest summer months. Armor is included for the shoulders and elbows and armor can be added for the back.
What’s new with version 3? The armor is here is now the honeycomb shaped rubberized units which is CE level 1 and due to its shape vents better than the solid black armor from the version 2; new color combos with slightly updated textile materials.
I’ve always been a fan of this jacket. Most gear makers have a solid mesh jacket for hot summer riding, but I personally think REVIT’s version has the most style. Even though the pricing is “entry level” (for REVIT anyway), the jacket uses premium materials with nice styling touches. For my review, I have a Silver/Black jacket here and it looks great. The mesh has a nice “shine” to the fabric and the solid black material is a softer looking rip-stop that contrasts the shiny mesh. The silver reflectives and rubberized logos add some style too.
Functionally, the Airwave is simple: full mesh for hot summer weather. The shoulders and elbow areas are a solid textile only to add a bit more abrasion resistance in those crash prone areas, and also to provide a bit more structure to better hold the shoulder and elbow armor in place. There are no removable liners, etc… just wear it in the heat and get wet if it rains! You’ll dry soon enough :)
Armor inserts are included for the shoulders and elbows as standard. It’s REVIT’s CE Level 1 SeeSoft armor which is pliable and comfortable. The armor is a rubber compound and it is molded in a honeycomb pattern which allows plenty of air flow. The back protector is optional. The jacket is equipped with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). Take the link below to order. For women’s size 36 choose size 3; for 38 to 44, choose size 4 and for 46 and larger choose size 5.
I’ve included a link below to the matching Airwave 3 pants. The pants have a similar feature list to the jacket and will work well for hot weather use. Not everybody gets the full outfit, so if you just wear jeans, consider connecting the jacket to your favorite jeans with REVIT’s Safeway belt (take the link below). Alternately you can use the fabric loop in back to attach to your own belt or jean’s loop. Pricing for the new version 3 is the same as the version 2 from four years back, which is nice to know. Overall, a very nice product! :: Paul, 02-04-20
REVIT says: The Airwave 3 Ladies jacket is created with PWR|shell mesh panels at the front, back, and arms, allowing for a continuous flow of air to keep the rider cool out on the open road. Abrasion-resistant stretch ripstop chest panels help improve comfort and flexibility on the bike while adjustment tabs on the arms, and straps on the hips, will help riders achieve the perfect fit every time. On the safety side, CE-level 1 SEESMART™ armor at the shoulders and elbows keep riders protected. The Airwave 3 can further be fortified via our SEESOFT™ CE-level 2 back protector. The jacket can then be connected to jeans with the double jeans loop.
