Sizing Information
These gloves are consistent with the major American based brands we carry such as FirstGear, Tour Master, Joe Rocket, etc, so hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.
Just as an FYI, you may have previous experience with European designed brands such as Alpinestars and REV’IT! which run about one half size smaller, size-for-size, than the American brands. It is not a universally true fact, but generally holds for most styles. So if a particular size in either of those brands is roomy on you, then you may be able to go down one full size in this style.
Our Two Cents
The Cortech Apex ST glove is new for 2020. This is a leather short cuff style for sport and street riders. The glove’s design includes significant protection features. This one is available in women’s sizing also (take the link below).
The Apex ST offers a fit much like sport/race gloves. The fingers are pre-curved and the sizing is relatively snug for a sport fit. The finger seams are sewn on the outside on the lower fingers which is common in gloves of this type. It makes the fit easier and more comfortable.
Hard sliders with a carbon fiber look are fitted over the knuckle, in the palm of the hand and on the backs of the fingers. There is a bit of extra padding sewn in under the leather on the bottom and top sides of the thumb and on the sides of the pinkie. All the armor pieces are well placed and feel significant (not just show).
Even though these gloves are all leather, they should work pretty well in warmer weather since the back of the hand uses perforated leather. And being a short cuff glove will make them more comfortable too (as compared to a long gauntlet glove). The gloves have a short Velcro-close tab at the wrist to keep them on your hands in case of a fall.
For the price, these gloves offer some good features. They aren’t as refined with regard to fit and finish as with more expensive gloves, but for the everyday street rider, they are a good value and they look good. :: Paul, 05-22-20
