Sizing Information

The fit of Alpinestars gloves are very consistent from one model to the next. And overall, they fit a bit small as compared to other brands we carry such as FirstGear, Tour Master, etc. It’s not enough to recommend that you buy a larger size (especially if a snug fit is preferred) but it is noticeable enough to say that if you are sometimes between sizes, then you should probably choose the larger of the two. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.

Our Two Cents

The Alpinestars Diesel Kei Gloves are a sharp, short cuff leather glove for sport or street riding. The styling of these gloves is a collaboration between Alpinestars and the European clothing manufacturer Diesel. You’ll find other Diesel gear such as the Alpinestars Diesel Shotaro Hoodie with complementary styling. Aside from the styling, the construction and features of this glove is nearly identical to the Alpinestars Mustang v2 Glove.

This glove’s key features include some newer things from Alpinestars that help with fit and convenience. Right at the base of the thumb on this glove is a stretch fabric panel. It’s not a big thing, but it’s an area of gloves that can become uncomfortable if the leather bunches up and/or doesn’t stretch enough and this panel seems to help. Also, this glove has some nice touch sensitive panels at the tips of the forefinger and thumb so you can swipe AND pinch on your phone with one hand. Another enhancement is the design of the knuckle armor. The knuckle armor piece is molded plastic and is under a layer of the perforated leather which looks sharp and all that is layered over another layer of memory foam which extends partway down the back of the hand and forward to the base of the fingers. The memory foam adds a layer of energy absorption and also makes sure that knuckle armor is comfortable to wear. I like how it feels.

You may be wondering about the letters/numbers on the glove. I looked around the internet to see if I could make any sense of the numeric designations, but nothing matched. It may mean something to Diesel folks though. :: Paul, 05-07-21
