Boots are nice and stiff, a bit uncomfortable at first but break in well and (I presume) protect well. Dig the extra material where the boot touches the shifter--should help the boots last longer. Helmet's great, too. I sized different helmets in a local shop and found HJCs size pretty small--Mediums in other brands fit me perfect, but for HJC I need a Small. For anyone that doesn't like logos (I don't!), the HJC logo is a thick decal than can be pulled off without leaving any residue. I appreciate that
