Sizing Information

This jacket is a standard cut street jacket and it fits a bit more relaxed than other Roland Sands styles. We measured a selection of sizes and also tried these on our fit test mannequins. Huey is wearing a medium and Dewey is in the XL. These are the sizes they normally wear. The fit looks good.

I’d advise to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. To make size selection easier, we’ve developed the chart below to help you choose a size based upon your chest and belly measurements. If you have a bit of a belly, just make sure that the jacket you choose will be big enough for both your chest and belly.

Note: if you plan to add a back protector to this jacket, then add 1” to the chest/belly measurements before choosing a size.

Jacket Size Max Chest Max Belly
Small 38 36
Medium 40 38
Large 43 41
XL 46 44
XXL 48 46
XXXL 51 49

Our Two Cents

The Ramone is a very heavy canvas riding jacket which is styled much like a casual ranch-style jacket. I’m from west Texas and I see farmers and ranchers wearing very similarly styled jacket all the time. This jacket fits casually and comfortably and is mid length. Anybody would be comfortable with this style either on or off the bike,

The heave canvas material used in this jacket feels really sturdy. Being 100% cotton I don’t think it will hold up in a slide like a Cordura product would, but it is thick so maybe it would do well. I does have a double layer of material on the elbows with some sharp stitching as an accent so that will help with the abrasion resistance. And this jacket does have provisions for the addition of protective armor. The armor is made by Forcefield and is nice stuff. The armor pieces themselves are a three ply arrangement which allows them to flex and mold to your body shape easily.

I’m looking at the khaki color jacket and it has some nice contrasting trim of corduroy along side the zipper and on the collar. Notice the sharp buttons down the front and the nice leather pulls on the zippers. The lining is sharp too in shiny gold.

To help you reach for the controls on a bike, this jacket has an “action back” setup behind the shoulders. And they’ve added some bold stitching below the action back to add a little bit more interest. Overall, a sharp comfortable style that will be at home either on or off the bike in equal measure. :: Paul, 03-23-18

Constructed of heavy weight duck cotton that is abrasion resistant, zip front to keep the jacket closed while riding and buttoned flap for that classic look.
