Our Two Cents
This jacket offers a very good list of features for the asking price. The RCX Textile Jacket is a good all around textile jacket that should perform well in a variety of climates. There are several color options available, each of which have a nice simple yet sporty style. The RCX utilizes an insulated vest type liner for cold weather use. For warmer weather this jacket has both bicep and shoulder vents, along with three large rear exit vents. Together these should provide a decent amount of airflow. A Rainguard® waterproof liner is also incorporated for wet weather. This liner will repel water but will remain breathable so you don’t get too hot. The RCX jacket uses Velcro adjustments in the waist, and the sleeves also have Velcro take ups which help to reduce drag and keep armor in the right place. For storage there are two hand warmer pockets on the exterior, along with a zippered document pocket and two cargo pockets on the inside. One nice feature: the interior pockets are sewn into both the removable liner and the jacket shell, so your pockets are always in the same place whether the liner is in or out. CE approved armor is included for the shoulders and elbows, and there is a triple density foam back pad which feels substantial compared to some other brands. Reflective piping runs across the front and the back of the jacket which will greatly improve night-time visibility – always a welcome feature. There is also some thin foam padding in the lower back of the jacket which should help protect that area in case of a fall.
