Sizing Information

We often say Alpinestars gloves run a bit snug as compared to other brands, but I found these to be just a bit more roomy than most of their gloves, so I’ll say this one runs “true to size” with most other brands. The difference is usually subtle so I’m splitting hairs here a bit, but anyway… I’d still suggest that if you are sometimes between sizes, then choose the larger of the two. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.

Our Two Cents

These GP Air gloves are made of a mix of materials… leather, mesh and synthetic suede. Using a combination of materials allows a lot of design flexibility and what they are going for with this glove is a design that is light and airy, but one that has some significant protection. And the gloves are very light and super comfortable right out of the package. If you look at the close up pics we have in our gallery, you’ll see some pretty nice protective features too… the knuckle armor is very sturdy feeling and comfortable. Also, there is the Alpinestars’ exclusive third/fourth finger bridge. The bridge ties the two smallest fingers together with a piece of material. This helps protect the most injury prone pinky finger from damage because the stronger third finger can lend some physical support. Also, that pinkie is wrapped in an extra layer of synthetic suede material too. In the heel of the hand, there is a sturdy slider which will promote a sliding action if you hit the pavement rather than causing a twist or grab if leather or suede hits first. And an extra benefit you have with these gloves is that the index finger and thumb have conductive material added so that you can operate your phone or GPS with your gloves still on. Works great. Overall, I really like this style because it is a glove you can wear in really hot weather without sacrificing protection. :: Paul, 03-19-14

This is my second pair of these GP Air gloves. I was quite impressed with the fit, quality and appearance. My first pair did have a few straggling threads, but I nipped them off with a lighter. (Read more...)
