Sizing Information

Like most Alpinestars gloves, these gloves ran a bit smaller than most glove brands we carry. They are not a lot small and most people can choose the size they normally wear in gloves (especially if a snug fit is preferred). If you are sometimes between sizes, then choose the larger of the two. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. Our Two Cents

The Jet Road Gore-Tex gloves are made for sport street riders and touring riders that are serious about staying dry. These gloves use Gore Tex as the waterproofing medium which is considered the best at keeping water out while allowing body moisture to escape. But the cuff design of this glove goes further than most. There is a “gator” that fits snugly around your arm above the wrist and can be tucked under a jacket sleeve. And then there is an outer cuff that can go over the sleeve, and therefore creates a barrier to water entering the glove around the arm/wrist. That outer cuff is also adjustable by way of a zipper to help you get it in place and to fit your type of jacket. These gloves have a very nice knuckle protector on the back of the hand. It is a molded knuckle protector that is covered in a black cloth to match the glove, so it tones down the looks, but still gives you the impact protection. The palms are leather with reinforcement in high wear and impact prone areas. The gloves have light insulation for warmth. The insides of the gloves are lined with a soft material, but it is not “fleecy” like thicker cold weather gloves. I sort of like the more slick finish to the lining material which slides on the hand easier. Take the “View Larger Images” link above to see a good close-up picture including a night shot of the reflective material on the glove. I like the hi viz version of this glove. I think it looks sharp and helps you to be seen. Oh, I almost forgot to mention… there is a little pointy rubber thingy built into the end of the right index finger which is a stylus for a bike’s navigation system. Hmmm…. I’ve not ever had one, so I can’t say how great that is, but it should work. Before you ask… no, it doesn’t operate a touch screen phone :( :: Paul, 10-24-12
