Sizing Information

“Houston, we have a problem”... We usually order in every other size of a pant style to check waist and inseam. From our initial look at these pants, it appears the size Medium and Large are 2” larger than they should be. We are investigating further and will update these comments soon. Looks like you’d be safe in buying other sizes because they measure out as expected.

Below is the result of our initial measurements:
Pant Size Max Waist Regular Inseam Short Inseam
XS
Small 32 30
Medium 36 31 30
Large 38 31
XL 38 33
XXL
XXXL 46 33 32
XXXXL

Update October ‘09: Tour Master confirms that the sizing of the pants is not correct and is especially off in the Small/Medium/Large size range. If the pants were consistently off we could work with the issue, but apparently they are not. It’s a mixed bag. So now they’ll implement changes at the factory, but even if they fix the issue, the inventory in the US will be mixed for many months to come. For now, I say, “stay away”.

Our Two Cents

The Tracker Mesh Pants are ideal for commuting or touring through hot climates. They can be worn as regular cargo pants, or even converted to shorts when you reach your destination (we wouldn’t recommend riding in these without the lower legs and armor installed). One of the things that I really like about these pants is how easy they are to convert from “riding mode” to “normal mode.” The knee armor is removable through an external zipper pocket (so you don’t have to take the pants off to get to the armor), or you can choose to completely remove the lower legs (which also have side zippers, so you can keep your footwear on), and just wear them as shorts. These pants also include a windproof liner, which unfortunately is only held in place by five small strips of Velcro around the waist. This means you will have to just be a little more careful when putting the pants on with the liner installed, to avoid having it pull down out of place. Once you are wearing them I don’t think it would be much of an issue. The liner is not insulated, so it will only extend the usable temperature range down a few degrees, and is also does not have the side zippers or the lower leg zippers. Which means, if you are using the liner, you’ll have to take your pants off to do the conversion to shorts. These pants have stretch panels in the inseam and at the rear of the waist, and a Velcro belt on either side for an adjustable fit. Two zippered hand warmer pockets and two cargo pockets provide plenty of carrying capacity, but none of them are waterproof. Overall I would say these should be very convenient riding pants for warmer weather, and you can comfortably wear them on pit stops or even after the ride is over.
