Sizing Information

We checked the fit on these jackets and find that they run consistently one size larger across the board than what is shown in Tour Masters’ size chart. Therefore, we advise you to buy one size smaller than you normally would. For example if you are usually an XL in men’s shirts and wear a 46 suit coat, then you should order a size Large in this jacket. The overall cut of this jacket is ideal for street and touring riding. It is more relaxed through the torso and not as “forward leaning” as a sport bike/race jacket. Generally speaking, those with average to stout builds will like this cut, where it won’t be the ideal cut for a person who is tall/skinny.

The following is the size chart provided by Tour Master for this jacket:

Alpha Size Max Chest Size Sleeve Length
XS 38 25.5
Small 40 26
Medium 42 26.5
Large 44 27
XL 46 27.5
XXL 48 28
XXXL 50 28
XXXXL 52 28.5

Our Two Cents

The Flex 2 is Tour Master’s second generation of their fully convertible sport riding jacket. A convertible jacket will work well for a full range of weather conditions. It converts from a traditional textile jacket design to a full mesh jacket in seconds so the Flex 2 is essentially two jackets in one. In cooler and/or wet conditions, you’d use the jacket with the outer textile shell in place (like you see in the picture above). The outer shell provides a wind barrier and along with the removable thermal liner will provide warmth and moderate protection against water (this jacket is advertised as having a “water resistant” shell, but not waterproof). For more moderate temperatures, you’d still use the textile shell but remove the the thermal liner. And for hot dry weather, you’d run without the solid textile outer panel which essentially converts the Flex 2 to a very nice full mesh jacket. Some of the pockets, adjusters, etc that are within reach with the outer shell in place are replicated on the inner mesh jacket so you still have all the conveniences in either configuration. For crash protection CE approved armor is included in the shoulders and elbows. You also get a removable triple density back pad. Use the jacket’s rear zipper for attachment to Tour Master/Cortech riding pants. Pictures are worth a thousand words and for this jacket, you’ll want to take a look at our full photo spread to appreciate all you get with this design. Great jacket at a super great price. Can't go wrong for the price. I find the sizing to be true to scale and not run one size too big ONLY if you wear the inner mesh liner which takes up a lot of slack space. With just the outer shell wearing al... (Read more...)
