Our Two Cents

The Twist of Fate 2.0 Textile Jacket from Speed and Strength features Knox CE approved armor in the shoulders, elbows and back in a simply styled water resistant jacket. The Knox armor is very substantial for a jacket in this price range. The CE spine protector looks like it would do an excellent job in an accident. The shoulder and elbow armor is not removable in this jacket, but that shouldn’t be an issue for most people. The shell of this jacket is made from a water resistant polyester shell, which is slightly heavier weight than most other jackets. Being water resistant, this jacket will not be as hot as a waterproof jacket, but will still provide some protection from short rain showers. There are also zippered vents in the arms and at the back of the torso for airflow in warmer weather. For cooler rides, an insulated vest type liner is included as well. The Twist of Fate 2.0 jacket also has a small aerodynamic back hump. This can help prevent neck injuries by forming a bridge between the pavement and the back of your helmet, although it’s so small I question its effectiveness. One other nice feature of the Twist of Fate jacket is the stretch material at the inner arms, which really adds to the comfort level. Velcro waist adjustment belts and snap sleeve take ups also allow you to customize the fit.
