We tried the size Medium in this jacket on Huey and we put an XL jacket on Dewey. These are the sizes they normally wear and both fit very well. This is a sport cut jacket so it is made to fit the body closely. A snug fit is comfortable on a bike at higher speeds because the jacket won’t inflate or flap with a proper fit. Based on what we saw and measured, I’d advise you to wear the size you normally wear in men’s clothing.

Take a look at the sizing chart provided by Scorpion to find the jacket that would fit you the best. The conversions are “standard” and indicate a trim/sport fit. The chart can be used if you want to choose a size based upon your chest measurement and/or suit coat size.

I added an estimated “max belly” measurement too. In a sport jacket like this, you need to make sure the size you pick is big enough for you through the midsection (if you have a bit of a belly).

The Intake jacket from Scorpion is constructed primarily of nylon with fairly large mesh panels on the sleeves, sides and back. This design won’t flow as much air as full mesh jackets that are mainly built of mesh, but it will also perform better for cooler weather use. The SuperFabric™ on the elbows and shoulders (the silver stripes; they feel like tiny dots of metal) adds even more abrasion resistance to the nylon shell and in addition you get C.E. approved ventilated armor at the shoulders and elbows as well as a foam back pad. The overall armor package is about as good as you get in most brand-name street jackets. For colder or inclement weather, the jacket comes with a nice full sleeve liner. As I noted below the factory bullets at the top of the page, Scorpion’s catalog and the hang tag on the jacket list an Everheat thermal liner in addition to the AirGuard waterproof/windproof liner; this is an error, the jacket does not come with the Everheat liner. However, the AirGuard liner does have some light insulation and should provide some warmth. Scorpion assures me this liner is waterproof but I’d be inclined to say that it is more water-resistant. The seams aren’t taped, it isn’t made of the usual rubberized fabric that we normally see in waterproof garments. I do think it will do a good job of blocking the wind and I was impressed with the front closure of the jacket when used with the liner. There are overlapping flaps and Velcro to close it all up. We also include a night time shot to show you how the reflective material lights up. It does! The overall fit of the jacket is easy and it is very comfortable to wear.
