Cortech GX Sport Textile Jacket

The overall fit of this jacket will work for the “average build”, so choose a size based upon what you usually wear in men’s jackets/shirts. Cortech marks the various size jackets with the following chest sizes:

XS	38
Small	40
Medium	42
Large	44
XL	46
XXL	48
XXXL	50
XXXXL	52

These chest sizes seem appropriate, so you can use your suit coat size or chest measurement to double check. You’ll want to check your belly also and make sure that your belly does not exceed 4” less than the chest size above (example, XL/46 will handle a max belly of about 42”). Tall sizes are available also, which adds about 1 1/2” to the torso length and sleeve length.

The GX Sport jacket offers a lot of features and good looks for an economical price. A lot of attention has been given to this jacket’s venting features. Waterproof jackets by nature can be very hot in the summer, so a good vent system is important in this style jacket if you want comfort year around. But good vents also mean that some leakage of water through the vents is always a possibility (so don’t be surprised if this jacket isn’t 100% waterproof). On the front of the jacket there are four vents and then two more on the biceps. The torso vents have a double strip of Velcro which allows you to stick the vent into an “open” position and get good air flow. Also for cold weather use, you get a very nice full sleeve thermal liner (most jackets in this price range only offer a vest type liner). The armor in the jacket is very good also. It’s a hard shell, plastic-over-foam type armor—very similar to GP type armor used in race suits. And it has a CE certification label on it also. For connection to Tour Master or Cortech pants, there is a short rear zipper supplied also.
