These boots are sold in US sizes (and half sizes). The width of the boots is D (which is considered to be a “normal” width.)
Caution: Shoe styles from Alpinestars seem to run slightly snug as compared to “normal” street shoe sizes but their race boots seem to be a bit on the loose side as compared to normal street shoe sizes. If you own Alpinestars race boots and you use the US/Euro conversion chart to choose a US size for the shoes, you’ll likely wind up getting a shoe that is too small. So we recommend you choose these shoes based upon your normal US shoe size and if you are between sizes, go up. If you know your Alpinestar race boot size and use the conversion chart to a US size, choose one full US size bigger in the shoe.
Our Two Cents
The Octane Riding Shoe is a good alternative for those riders that don’t like a high top boot. This shoe seems to be designed to provide some ankle coverage while providing a great deal of flexibility. The low-cut Achilles’ heel area makes it much more comfortable to walk around in than most motorcycle shoes, and the soft suede ankle collar keeps the boot from cutting in around the ankles. Alpinestars advertises a “water-repellent zipper” but I’m not sure what a water resistant zipper does since this is a low top shoe, but what the heck, I guess it’s something to advertise. There are two closure straps over the tongue area which allows you to get a nice and tight fit without any trouble. The injection-molded heel and ankle support provides protection and adds a unique look to the shoe. There is also some protection for your toes with a toe slider and hard protector at the end of the shoe (toe slider is not replaceable, so how about let’s call it a toe protector).
