This boot is offered in “regular” widths and also wide sizes. The “regular” is a D width approximately. If you sometimes have trouble with regular shoes being too narrow definitely go with the wide version. If you are between sizes, choose the next larger. I generally wear a D or “regular” and found them to be a good fit in my normal size. Like the predecessor to this 2.0 version the foot area fits more snug than some brands like Alpinestars or Oxtar (now known as TCX). Those with more narrow feet may find this style to fit reasonably well compared to many other zip style boots.
The wide selections offer a wider footbed and will accommodate those who need wider than the “D” width discussed above, however the ankle and calf areas of the boot aren’t over-sized, so if you have large/wide calves and ankles, the wide version may not work.
Our Two Cents
The Solution 2.0 boot from Tour Master is the second version of this popular style. These boots are great for everyday street riders or touring riders. The zip style is easy-on/easy-off and the lack of laces cuts down the possibility of anything coming untied and getting tangled in machinery. The boots are constructed with a waterproof lining. The boot is about 12” tall overall and since the lining is installed behind the main zipper too, they’ll be waterproof up to about 10”. There are flex panels in the front and back to make them easy to walk in and the inside of the boot is lined with a cushy breathable fabric over some thin foam padding. These should break in very quickly. The sole is very firmly bonded to the upper and feels like it would give a lot of life. There are firm armor pieces incorporated into the shin area and on either side of the ankle bones. The toe box is stiffened (for shifting) and the heel area also has some stiffening material for protection. This Tour Master boot (like their other styes) offers very good quality for the money. Straight Up ! These are the most perfect riding boots I've ever owned. I ordered one size larger to be safe (I hate tight fitting clothes and shoes) and the fit is spot on. They are thus far the warmest on the toes. I haven't had any serious r... (Read more...)
