TCX X-Wave Air Boots

We find TCX boots to be very consistent in fit from one model to the next. We checked this boot and it too is consistent with other models. To compare to other brands you may have experience with, I’d say the overall fit is somewhere between a Sidi boot which is generally a bit more narrow and an Alpinestars boot which has a more generous width.

This X-Wave Air boot is made for street riding, and for the hot weather!

This sneaker/boot version from TCX is a whole lot like many of their other similar choices, but what makes this one different is that a good 50% of the upper on this boot is abrasive resistant mesh material. I took the liberty of trying to blow through the material, and sure enough, the air goes right through unimpeded. So if you are in the market for something light, breezy and totally tolerable in hot weather, you are in the right place.

Like all the other sneaker-type boots we sell, I offer the same cautions about protection…. no, simple laces aren’t the best idea in a motorcycle boot (lest they get entangled in the machinery), and no, these boots don’t have much in the way of toe and heel reinforcements either, and the sole is not as reinforced as most sport touring boots. They DO have some very nice CE rated protectors on each side of the ankle bone though, so if you fall, plan on landing on the ankle bones! Seriously folks… a boot like this is light on protection, but big on comfort and style. Oh, and BTW, the photos don’t emphasize this, but the laces ARE optic yellow.
