Sizing Information

Use the drop down menu above to see the available size range. Choose the size you normally wear in a street shoe. The width of these boots is “medium” or “D” width. The sizing seems accurate. I’d say the overall width and fit through the foot is generous… more like the fit of an Alpinestar boot which is a bit wider than most (Sidi boots are a bit more narrow than most).

You can also use the following chart to convert US sizes to UK sizes:

US Boot Size UK Boot Size
US 7 UK 41
US 8 UK 42
US 9 UK 43
US 9.5 UK 44
US 10 UK 45
US 11 UK 46
US 12 UK 47
US 13 UK 48

Our Two Cents

The Speedmaster 3.0 boots offer some great features in a mid-priced race boot. In trying out these boots there were a couple features I really like. First, I like the simple-yet-effective calf adjustment system. There is a buckle on the outside that will allow you to open up or close down the calf area of the boot to suit your individual size. Not in itself unique, but add this adjustment to the more typical full side zipper and you get an adjustment feature that you set one time and forget it. Using just the zipper for side entry makes these boots quick and easy to use. We’ve taken some nice close-up photos of these features, so check those out with the “View Larger Images” link above. The boots are made of perf leather which should breathe well (obviously) and will probably break in quickly (more so than most European boots that use Lorica or similar materials instead of leather). I also like the use of the suede leather on the inside exterior parts of the boot, which will help protect paint finishes and gives a better soft grip to bike parts. It kind of looks cool too. The heel cup, sliders and side ankle protectors all seem reasonable and comparable to other boots. The one area where this boot cannot compare to the higher end Sidi or Alpinestars boots is the lack of articulating ankle support. There is “something” built into the boot which I can feel but cannot see; it adds a touch of stiffness, but it’s not much. So overall, I’d say the boot compares favorably with other major brands’ upper level race boots, but is more like a mid-price boot in the ankle support department. That being said, consider the price… and if your cup is half full, you could conclude that you are getting a great mid-price race boot with a few outstanding features that rival the best brand’s boots.
