Our Two Cents
The Transition Series 2 jacket is a 3/4 length jacket that offers the features you would find in an expensive touring jacket, but at an affordable price. The overall styling is like an “adventure” jacket which has become very popular lately. A lot of attention was paid to the climate control in this jacket. There are large shoulder vents, a total of four chest vents and a large rear exhaust vent. All of the intake vents are covered with a Velcro-close flap that can be folded up to form air scoops to channel air into the vents (really neat idea that should help maximize airflow on hot rides). The jacket offers waterproof construction by way of a mid-liner. Use of a mid-liner keeps water out effectively but the shell material of the jacket gets wet. Although the zippered venting is extensive the mid-liner won’t allow free flow of air all the way through the jacket to your skin so the overall effectiveness of the vents is moderate. For cooler weather, a full sleeve insulated liner is included making this jacket suitable for use in cold temperatures. This jacket also has a good amount of storage. There are two front cargo pockets, two chest pockets (double as vents) and a large rear storage pocket. This jacket also offers quality protection. The shoulders and elbows are equipped with removable CE approved armor, and a removable triple density backpad is also included. For comfort, the jacket has adjustable sleeves, wrist closures and an adjustable waist. There is a good amount of reflective material in the front and back of the jacket for increased nighttime visibility.
