We found this chart to be fairly accurate – if anything, they run just slightly larger than indicated above, which is perfect for wearing additional clothing underneath.

A suit like this will be a good fit if you are close to “normal” in overall proportions (height vs. weight). If you are tall and skinny or short and wide, it will be hard to get a good fit, so in those cases, we recommend buying a separate jacket and pants rather than a one piece suit.

Our Two Cents

There aren’t too many choices out there for one piece textile suits, especially at this price point. I’m honestly quite impressed by the Tourmaster Centurion suit. It’s obvious that a lot of thought was put into the design and unlike other suits we’ve tried, this one is actually pretty comfortable and not too difficult to put on. The biggest obstacle to overcome with a one piece suit is fit. They just aren’t as versatile as a jacket/pant combo, so these are somewhat limited to riders with proportional builds. That being said, this suit does have some adjustability. There is a Velcro waist belt which can be used to snug up the fit and reduce drag. Snap sleeve take ups keep the elbow armor in place as well. Accordion stretch panels are found at the knees, elbows, and behind the arms (the liner has these as well). Probably the biggest plus of a suit like this is its weather protection. Having only one main zipper and a Rainguard liner means this suit is going to battle the elements quite well. There is also an under the helmet rain hood which helps keep water from seeping down your back when it’s really raining hard. For cold weather, there is a two piece, full length quilted liner which is installed with a zipper and copious amounts of Velcro down the legs. The jacket part of the liner could be worn on its own, or you can wear the entire liner when it’s really cold. Another very nice cold weather feature is the removable neck gaiter. Normally the neck is left painfully exposed unless you wear a separate gaiter or balaclava – having one built into the suit is a very nice feature. For warmer weather, there is quite a bit of ventilation, but with the Rainguard liner and heavy nylon construction, I wouldn’t expect to keep cool in very hot conditions. Nevertheless, there are vents at the thighs, arms, shoulders, and three exit vents in back. The shoulder vents can be held open with snaps which help scoop extra air into the suit. No shortage of storage here! There are plenty of pockets to store all your stuff: Two cargo leg pockets, four chest pockets, two hand warmer pockets, and two internal pockets will allow you to carry everything but the kitchen sink! For protection, the suit itself is made from very tough Carbolex® (a tough polyester material) while key impact areas at the shoulders, forearms, and knees receive an extra layer of 1680 ballistic polyester. The seat of the suit is also reinforced. Built in armor includes three way adjustable knee armor, and removable armor in the shoulders and elbows as well – all of which is CE approved. There are also removable foam hip pads and a triple density back protector. The fit and finish of the Centurion suit seems to be very good, as you would expect from a company like Tourmaster.
