Sizing Information

This jacket is sold in men’s “alpha” jacket sizing so you can choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. To choose a size based upon measurements, please have a look at Fieldsheer’s sizing charts. We feel the sizing chart is a good representation of how this item fits.

Our Two Cents

The Adventure Touring Textile jacket is Fieldsheer’s best jacket for commuters, touring riders and adventure riders. This jacket offers the most coverage of any of their jackets. It’s a 3/4 length design, but it also has a collar extender that would come way up under your helmet to keep water out and to keep the wind off your neck for warmth. I’ve not tried this feature, but it looks like it would be effective. Might drive you crazy though trying to do head checks and such. Maybe not though since it’s pretty thin and pliable. You’ll just have to give it a try for yourself. Storage is in abundance. Tons of pockets are included (see our photo spread of all these by taking the “View Larger Pictures” link above). The shell of the jacket is a high quality nylon material which is obviously more high quality than their more value priced textile jackets. It’s got a slick feel to it and looks nice (not as wrinkled looking as less expensive jackets). The jacket is made water proof by virtue of a waterproof/breathable mid liner. This liner is situated between the jacket’s outer shell and a nylon mesh inside liner. Mid-liner designs like this do well to keep water out, but the usefulness of the zippered vents on the jacket are somewhat reduced because any air flow through the vents will not pass completely through the jacket to your skin. And even though this jacket has four zippered vents on the front and one large vent in back, I’d recommend this jacket for cold to mild (maybe even warm), weather riding, but not hot weather riding. For cold weather use, you get a very nice full-sleeve thermal liner which also doubles as a nice casual jacket. Having this functionality helps when trying to pack for long trips. Armor includes CE approved armor in the shoulders and elbows along with a better-than-average CE rated back protector. There are also some raised padding areas on the shoulders and elbows which adds a bit of sporty styling (and maybe some additional crash protection). The jacket has a short rear zipper for connection to pants.

Note about pants: We are not offering this jacket’s namesake pants, the Adventure Pants, because during our evaluation we found the sizing of the pants to be WAY off standard. So much so that we felt fitment via mail order would be problematic.
