Sizing Information

We find TCX boots to be very consistent in fit from one model to the next. We checked this boot and it too is consistent with other models. To choose a size, please click here to see the TCX size chart. The general width of TCX is “medium” or D to E. To compare to other brands you may have experience with, I’d say the overall fit is somewhere between a Sidi boot which is generally a bit more narrow and an Alpinestars boot which has a more generous width.

Our Two Cents

These Airtech 3 Gore-Tex Touring boots are perfect for the warm weather/all weather rider. They’re the third generation of Airtech and TCX always steps up their game with each variant.

The first Airtech boot was way back when TCX was still Oxtar, pre-2008. In 2016 the Airtech Evo debuted and finally in 2021 we have the Airtech 3. This new version sees the zippered opening move to the lateral side of the boot and a new elastic zip that gives you some flexibility over the ankle for a tight fit. The majority of the boot is still the tight weave ‘AirTech” fiber that allows air to flow through to the Gore-Tex® lining. This air movement helps the Gore-Tex® liner breathe and pulls any moisture from your foot out while allowing some outside air through to keep you cool. The medial side of the boot is a suede looking material.

You have all the protection you would expect in a motorcycle boot: reinforced toe, heel, shin, and malleolus (ankles). The boots also have reflective material at the heel and near where the base of any lace system would be. The elasticated zip and Velcro® closure give you some flexibility in calf size as well. These boots should accommodate up to about a 17” calf at the top but they would taper down to around 14” at the ankle.

The overall style of this boot is ideal for street riders and commuters. Due to the height of the boot it can also be worn by sport riders who use pants that tuck in. This boot also offers a comfortable natural feel when off the bike thanks to the Groundtrax® outsole. With the Gore-Tex® lining and Airtech outer material, this boot should work great temperatures ranging from cool to very warm and even hot depending on rider tolerances. They’ll also keep you dry in any precipitation you might encounter. :: Mike, 07/28/2022
