Sizing Information

We measured a sampling of these jeans and we found them to be roomy. The size 36 jean measures 38”. Most jeans are a bit “vanity” sized and a 36” would measure out about 37”, so these jeans fit just about 1/2” bigger than normal.

To choose a size, I’d suggest you measure the waist on your favorite pair of jeans and choose accordingly. Take the link below for advice on measuring. Whatever size you measure on your own jeans, subtract 2” and that will be the size we suggest for you.

The inseam on the standard jeans measures about 31” in the smaller sizes, 32” in the mid range sizes and 33” in the largest sizes. The tall sizes run about 2” longer.

Our Two Cents

Fly Resistance Jeans are a “standard” cut jean with Kevlar reinforcements. Knee armor inserts are included and hip armor is optional.

First off, these jeans are a standard medium blue in color. The factory photo makes them look like a heavily faded jean, but they aren’t . You can go here to see our studio photos of these jeans.

This jean has a pretty standard setup for its protection scheme. The shell is standard denim that is 98% cotton and 2% elastane to give it a slight stretch. And then the inside of the jeans is lined with a layer of polyester/kevlar material to up the abrasion resistance in key areas. This type of construction is very “usual” and is the norm in the least expensive riding jeans. More expensive jeans will be made of a denim material infused with abrasion resistant fibers. But for comfort and low cost, the type of construction in these jeans is where it’s at.

Molded rubber knee armor inserts are provided with each pair of jeans for knees. There are fabric pockets on the insides you put those armor inserts. The pockets have a couple strips of Velcro so you have 2 position adjustability for height. Pockets for hip armor are there too. Take the link below if you want to add hip armor pieces to your order.

The fit of these pants, I’d call “standard”. They aren’t a slim fit. Just for reference, the size 36” pant’s leg ends measure 8 1/2” across when laid flat. You can compare those to your favorite pants or jeans you wear with your riding footwear and make sure these will be big enough to fit over your boots. I bet they will be. The look like “boot cut” sizing to me.

These riding jeans are very inexpensive as compared to to most other brands we carry. The build quality looks pretty good to me. Don’t get me wrong… these aren’t tailored like REVIT jeans, but they don’t cost two or three hundred dollars either. These are inexpensive, but they aren’t junk either. :: Paul, 07-02-19
