The Icon Upstate Riding Shirt is a nice mesh counterpart to their popular Flannel Riding Shirt.

This Upstate Riding Shirt is full mesh with textile overlays in the shoulders and elbows/forearms. As usual with Icon you have a full complement of CE level 1 D3O armor which is ultra flexible and protective. At the bottom of the textile section on the rear of the jacket, there is a long reflective strip for nighttime visibility.

There are 4 external pockets: two zippered hand pockets on the belly and two snap chest pockets, and one zippered internal napoleon pocket with Icon’s signature St. Christopher pendant inside. The main zipper stops about 4” from the hem of the jacket and is also a two-way zip so you can open the bottom up even more if needed for comfort in the riding position. The cuffs have a zippered expansion section and close with a single snap, so you don’t have much adjustability but you can open them up wide to get the jacket on. The collar has snap collar stays so you don’t have to worry about it flapping around at speed.

The Icon Upstate Riding Shirt is a great option for urban/commuter riders looking for a summer jacket with a relaxed fit and excellent armor. This jacket should be comfortable in warm to hot weather. :: Mike, 08/01/2022
