Sizing Information

We tried a size Medium and an XL on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. Those are sizes they usually wear in an “American” cut jacket. This jacket from REV’IT! fit very well. This new Tornado 2 jacket fits much like some of REVIT’s previous models for street and touring, and is cut a bit more relaxed than some of their more sporty styles. The relaxed cut is pretty close to what you find in other brands in the same sizes, although the overall fit is just a bit more snug than most. My overall advice would be to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing and when between sizes, choose the larger.

If you want to dig a little deeper and select a size based on your own measurements, then please see the chart below which shows the REV’IT!-published chest sizes for each jacket’s alpha size along with our estimate of max chest and max waist/belly. I believe our chart is more accurate and I only list their chart for reference in case you saw it elsewhere and wondered what was going on.

This particular style doesn’t taper a whole lot from chest to waist… only about 2”, so most people won’t have to worry about whether the belly area will work for them, but for those who do have an ample belly, we list the max size for each alpha size so you can make sure the size you choose will work.

Our Two Cents

REVIT’s new Torque jacket is a no-fuss summer jacket that any type of rider would enjoy. Choose the all black or one of the more camo-tone jackets.

About 80% of this jacket if full-flow mesh material so consider this one for hot summer use. The jacket has solid reinforcements over the shoulders and elbows to beef up the protection capabilities in those crash prone areas. Speaking of crashes, this jacket comes with a set of CE Seesmart armor which is lighter, flexible and fully vented (perfect for a lighter summer jacket like this). Back armor can be added if you like (see the size advice below and the link to the back armor page at the bottom of this page).

This jacket comes with a removable full sleeve rain liner. The rain liner will of course keep water off your body in a shower, but it can also serve as a windproof liner as well. Use the windproof liner on cooler days. If you layer some underneath the windproof liner, you could use this jacket in pretty cool temps. I’d say, for most climates, you could go three seasons in this one.

We’ve got the all black jacket in our studio photos, but check out the other two color, which add a bit of style with low-tine camo in two different color choices. I can see cruiser riders opting for the all black, but others might like the camo alternates. Night time reflectives on this jacket are pretty good (see those photos in the gallery as well). The jacket has loops in back to attach to your belt to prevent flapping/ballooning and to keep the torso anchored down in case you fall.

The Torque jacket covers all the basic requirements in a good summer mesh jacket. This type of jacket is one that becomes a favorite because it is so easy to wear. :: Paul, 02-14-18

Add a Back Protector: This jacket is made with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). For sizes Small or Medium, choose size 4; for Large thru XXL, choose size 5 and for XXXL and larger choose size 6.
