Sizing Information

This jacket is a standard cut street jacket and it fits a bit more relaxed than other Roland Sands styles. We measured a selection of sizes and also tried these on our fit test mannequins. Huey is wearing a medium and Dewey is in the XL. These are the sizes they normally wear. The fit looks good.

I’d advise to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. To make size selection easier, we’ve developed the chart below to help you choose a size based upon your chest and belly measurements. If you have a bit of a belly, just make sure that the jacket you choose will be big enough for both your chest and belly.

Note: if you plan to add a back protector to this jacket, then add 1” to the chest/belly measurements before choosing a size.

Jacket Size Max Chest Max Belly
Small 38 36
Medium 40 38
Large 43 41
XL 46 44
XXL 48 46
XXXL 51 49

Our Two Cents

As the name implies, the Squad textile jacket has a decidedly military vibe. Its got knitted cuffs, waist, and collar so it will be comfortable for everyday use, but has chops of motorcycling protection.

This material used on the outer shell of this jacket is kind of unique. it has the look of standard nylon, but it has a slightly “waxy” feel and is very soft (not “crunchy” like some standard textile jackets). The material also stretches a bit. To add some abrasion protection, this jacket has a mid-liner of Kevlar fabric. I can’t see it for myself because its situated between the outer shell and mid liner, but I can feel it. The inside liner is a bright orange quilted shiny nylon (which adds to the military styling bent.

The jacket comes with removable level one foam inserts in the shoulders and elbows and it has a think foam back pad. The back pad can be upgraded with something more substantial if you like (see the link below).

The rest of this jacket is pretty straightforward… there is one inside breast pocket and two zip hand warmer pockets. Also, there is a nifty combination pocket and pencil holders on the right sleeve. I think you’ll like the casual nature of this jacket because it will be comfortable to wear anywhere (not just on the bike). :: Paul, 07-16-18

Roland Sands says: The RSD Squad jacket perfectly combines iconic flight jacket styling with premium moto functionality. The outer shell is a combination of waxed cotton and spandex for a light and flexible feel with a 100% DuPont® Kevlar® mid liner to provide superior abrasion protection. The inner liner is constructed of a soft satin material that is soft to the touch and rendered in bright orange to cap of the classic flight jacket styling. Additional features include a utility zip pocket that on the right sleeve so it’s usable on the bike and heavy duty flex ribbing on the cuffs and waist band.
