Sizing Information
Out of all the Roland Sands gear we tested for fit, this is the only product that varied from their norm. This vest fits about one size bigger than the stated size, so you’ll want to buy one size smaller than you normally would choose.
Below is the size chart we’ve been using on all their other gear. For this product only… you can use this chart but then choose ones size smaller.
Note: if you plan to add a back protector to this jacket, then add 1” to the chest/belly measurements before choosing a size.
Jacket Size | Max Chest | Max Belly |
---|---|---|
Small | 38 | 36 |
Medium | 40 | 38 |
Large | 43 | 41 |
XL | 46 | 44 |
XXL | 48 | 46 |
XXXL | 51 | 49 |
Our Two Cents
The Ringo vest is a lightly quilted waxed cotton material. This will be a good stylish choice for a bit of warmth if you don’t want leather.
The shell of the Ringo is the same material as the Ramone Perforated wax cotton vest, but without the perfs and with a bit more thickness. RSD doesn’t mention it, but it feels like there is a bit of insulation fill between the outer and inner layers. I gives the vest a very light “puffy” look. The waxed cotton shell material has a bit different feel to it… it almost feels like a thin sueded leather. It is soft and looks sharp.
This vest offers a soft knitted collar which I think feels really good (I’m a short neck guy). There are a total of six pockets… four in front and two inside and all are zip close to keep your stuff safe.
Both versions of these vests has a pocket in the liner to hold the optional back protector. If you want that, take the link below to order separately. The main zipper is a “two way” zip meaning you can zip up from the bottom if the vest wants to wrinkle up between your neck and your lap and/or to let some air in the bottom. Air flow probably won’t be a big issue with a vest, but its there if you need it. :: Paul, 03-21-18
Roland Sands says: The Ringo Vest by RSD, constructed premium RSD waxed cotton, an alternative to leather is lighter in weight but offers water repellency and abrasion resisting similar to cowhide. The Ringo is the perfect vest for layering or just as good when worn with a tee shirt underneath. The Ringo boasts a ton of style with a ribbed, welders style collar and quilted stitch accents. Add in the 2-way zipper function, plenty of storage pockets and back armor pockets and you have a solid vest ready for action.
