Oxford RP-3 2.0 Gloves

These gloves are consistent with the major US brands such as Tour Master and Joe Rocket, so hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. Just as an FYI, European brands such as REVIT, Dainese and Alpinestars typically run just a touch more snug that US sized gloves. I notice the finger length is generous with this glove. Those with short fingers might not like it, but those with average to long fingers will like the fit.

Oxford’s new RP-3 2.0 glove is a short cuff sport/street glove with good looks and a nice feel.

The RP-3 is the short cuff version of the RP-2 2.0 glove. It shares some common features such as the “floating” knuckle protection which is made of a sturdy firm plastic. And behind the knuckle protector over the top of your hand is a dense foam protector. There are also dense foam pads in the heel of the hand and on the sides of the pinkie.

This glove has a definite pre-curve to the hand and fingers which will feel nice on the controls. The palm of the hand is unlined for a good feel on the controls. The wear areas of the palm are covered in a second layer of leather.

I like how the cuff of the glove actually extends down over the wrist bone just a bit. I’d like to have seen a positive closure at the wrist to make sure the gloves stay on your hand. The Velcro adjustment at the cuff doesn’t really provide a definite “lock” on your hand.

But overall, I think these gloves feel great and they look very nice. In other brands, they could easily cost 50% more than this. For the money, I think these gloves are a bargain. :: Paul, 08-06-19
