Our Two Cents
Icon Timax gloves are back! We’ve seen this classic style from Icon a few times over the last 15 years or so. We saw these first around 2005 and then there was a “re-release” about five years later. And at some time, there was even a gold plated version. Wow!
And now, the TiMax gloves in both a long cuff and short cuff version are back in all their leather and chrome glory!. These were always very well constructed gloves and the new versions are identical. Black leather on the back of the hand and goat on the palms along with “box” finger construction make these gloves sturdy and very comfortable.
From the wrist to the fingertips, the two versions are identical. the long cuff version of course has the adjustable cuff and it has a Velcro closure on the wrist under the cuff to make sure the gloves stay firmly on your hands if you fall. The short cuff glove has an adjustable Velcro closure at the wrist and its made of a stretchy material. There is a big chrome pull tab at the wrist to help you pull them on. Note, however the short cuff version lacks the positive closure at the wrist that the full cuff version has.
I don’t think I have to go into detail about these gloves… they fully speak for themselves. My only observation is that these gloves are more than just for show, they are solid gloves with over-the-top style. And they are comfortable too! so if you want the style, rest assured these are a solid product. :: Paul, 04-25-18
Icon says: Have a taste for dragon-slaying titanium gloves but a preference for shorter cuffs? The TiMax Short glove provides all the coverage of its full-length brother, but with a go-fast silhouette. Floating knuckle construction, capped with military-grade titanium plates, provides coverage with flexibility. The cuff is a unique wrist wrap style, developed to keep things on lock should rider and bike go their separate ways. Slay your personal dragons, flex like a barbarian, and always cover the rear.
