Sizing Information

These gloves are consistent with the major US brands such as Tour Master and Joe Rocket, so hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. Just as an FYI, European brands such as REVIT, Dainese and Alpinestars typically run just a touch more snug that US sized gloves. I notice the finger length is generous with this glove. Those with short fingers might not like it, but those with average to long fingers will like the fit.

Oxford publishes a “template” you can print to choose a glove size by comparing your hand to a printed image. Click here to view/print.

We checked our own sizing advice based on a hand measurement to Oxfords printed template and found the measuring method to be most accurate.

Our Two Cents

The RP-2 2.0 Gloves by Oxford are a full gauntlet leather sport/race glove for street riders. The price is excellent!

I am pleasantly surprised by the overall feel of this glove! The leather is sturdy and the glove fits pretty darn well. I’d suggest this glove for those on a budget that ride on the street with a sport bike. There are a lot of protective features here, but I can’t really say this glove would be suggested for the track though since a few key features are missing as compared to full-on race gloves.

The gloves have a very sturdy knuckle protection design. It’s a molded, hard plastic knuckle protection piece and its a “floating” design so it can better comfortably cover the knuckles when you make a fist. Over the back of the hand, directly behind that knuckle protection piece is a sturdy dense foam pad built-in under the leather. Likewise, there are similar dense pads incorporated into the heel of the hand.

The wrist is held closed by a Velcro strap at the wrist. the strap is anchored on each side of the wrist to the glove. More serious race gloves would have the strap all the way around the wrist and with a protective leather flap over the Velcro closure. I like how they’ve run an extra layer of suede over the pinkie finger to give a bit more protection in that area.

My only gripe with this glove is with the larger Velcro closure that adjusts the cuff. It seems like the strap is about 1” or 2” too short to give a wide range of adjustability to wear the gauntlet over or under a jacket sleeve. Those with thicker arms might not be able to engage the Velcro when they want to wear the gauntlet over a jacket sleeve.

This is an amazing full gauntlet glove for under $80. I’ve seen gloves costing half again as much that didn’t seem any better. So don’t be thrown by the cheap price… these are pretty darn good gloves. :: Paul, 08-06-19
