Sizing Information
These gloves are consistent with the major brands we carry, so hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.
Our Two Cents
This Speedmaster glove offers about the most extensive gauntlet coverage of any glove we carry. This new gauntlet is taller than most and consists of a layer of leather with a custom molded shock absorbing rubber piece on top (the black part with the JR logo in the pictures). But in front of this gauntlet, the glove remains very flexible at the wrist. The molded knuckle protector offers “ram air” cooling that admits a flow of air over the back of the hand—good idea! The palms of this glove are made of a special leather (brand name “Pittards”), which is soft and flexible, but is specially treated to be more resistant to abrasion than “standard” leather and it will also resist damage from moisture (from perspiration). Many race gloves employ the Pittards leather or kangaroo. Both hides provide great “feel” for the controls. We’ve had a couple vendors experience delays in manufacturing gloves using kangaroo so maybe the Pittards treated leather will be the new “standard” for racing gloves.
