Our Two Cents

The Freccia Evo boots from Forma are new for 2025 and are the evolution of their original Freccia boots, in fact not just an evolution but just and overall all around improvement. The Evo boots, unlike the originals, are CE 2 2 2 2 rated, definitely stepping up the protection levels.

These boots are designed for sport riders and for use on both the street and on track, though keep in mind that track use requires an upgrade to the toe slider (upgrading to the metal version) which is available from Forma. Additionally there is also a Freccia Evo Dry variant, which is essentially the exact same boot but the waterproof version.

Taking a look at sizing, the Freccia Evo boots are available in european numerical sizing ranging from size 37 up to size 48, that is roughly size 3 to size 14 in US men’s sizing. Typically I wear a European 46 or a US size 12 and when I tried on a size 46 it fit me exactly as I would expect it to. So in this case our sizing recommendation would be to get whatever European size you normally wear, or use the provided size chart to convert your normal US size to a European size.

Looking at construction the upper is microfiber and it features very large accordion stretch panels, both on the front and the back. The achilles area features reflective material, and there is an external protector that goes all the way around the boot from ankle to ankle. There is also additional protection in the way of injection molded plastic in the heel, toe box and of course at the shins.

The main closure is a combination of a long main zipper and velcro, and speaking of velcro there is velcro on the zipper tab to help keep it in place when zipped up. On the inside of the boot there is a comfortable mesh liner, soft polymer padding with memory foam and the footbed is both antibacterial and replaceable. Additionally there is a built in ankle support system that will help minimize injury.

To me the Freccia Evo boots slide in under the Ice Pro and Phantom boots from Forma in terms or protection and “race” level, they really are more of a street boot rather than a track boot. But with that said, they offer really good value for the money, good protection, especially with a CE 2 2 2 2 rating and a good amount of comfort. The nice thing about the Freccia Evo’s is that they are alot easier to deal with day to day than a full race spec boot, walking off the bike isn’t a chore and overall they are about as comfortable as a full height sport boot can be. So if you don’t need an all out race, moto gp derived boot, but still want good, full height protection, then the Freccia Evo are definitely worth checking out. :: Damir 11/25/25
