I've wanted a lighter leather boot to use in the warmer months instead of my heavier waterproof motorcycle boots. These are surprisingly comfortable, and the reinforcements fit nicely around my ankle, toes, and heel. With a bit of break-in (couple miles), they feel like normal hiking shoes. I've not tested the waterproofing yet, but that and the light insulation should make them work for the northwest in the summer. And they look nice, too, kind of old school.
