The Alliance Dark helmet from Icon’s 2013 lineup has several refinements over the previous Alliance SSR helmets, including a slightly elongated, more oval shape to the EPS liner. (These are the same helmets introduced in 2011, this is just a new color treatment for 2013.) The comfort liner features Hydra-Dry™ moisture-wicking properties to keep your head as comfortable as possible and it is removable and washable. The venting system has been revised as well, with reshaped and enlarged intake and exhaust ports for a greater degree of air flow. The helmet features Icon’s ProShield™ with sideplates that match the helmet’s graphics and finish. The Dark helmet comes with a dark smoke shield and a clear shield as well, an incredible value at this price point. The shield locks down securely and stays put, even during high-speed head checks. It meets or even exceeds rigorous safety and testing standards around the world. The Dark has a black Rubatone finish, which is a rubberized coating that is extremely durable. This is the last Alliance helmet that Icon will produce and it’s the best to date, especially at this price.
