Our Two Cents
The Stylmartin Matrix WP boots are a fully waterproof boot with a classic style.
The Matrix WP boots have a classic two buckle closure with a Velcro flap over the shin. Behind this flap, there is a waterproof gaiter. The buckles are easily adjustable two ways, you can set the normal tightness you want by sliding the strap into or out of the female end, or you can use a different point in the buckle itself to tighten (or if you initially set it on the tighter, you can loosen) the boots.
The boots have full malleolus protection on both sides of the ankle and though they don’t call it out there is a plate of some kind in the shin. The Vibram sole is fairly stiff through the arch but bends at the ball of the foot so walking is comfortable. Stylmartin has included metal sole end guards in the box (see additional photos) as well as mounting hardware and instructions.
The leather on the Stylmartin Matrix WP boots is made to look aged out of the box. The shin and toes have a worn/used look to them and the rest of the boots will surely break in to match over time. There is a shifter protector on the toe to keep the wear and tear of shifting on a reinforced patch.
Stylmartin is a new brand for us, and we love the vintage styling and quality components they put into their boots. The Stylmartin Matrix WP boots are a great option for the touring or commuter rider that wants some style to go with their protection.
