Our Two Cents
The Stylmartin Iron Waterproof Riding Shoes are a waterproof shoe that has great style and comfort for urban and commuter riders.
The Iron WP shoes are made with a water repellent full grain upper that is available in a vintage black color. I say vintage because shoes have a distressed look that gives the impression they have already seen miles of riding right out of the box. The laces are “dirty” red to give the appearance of use/oil staining but it is really just a mix of black and brown thread in the red that gives that appearance. The shoes come with a pair of all black laces if you prefer a more subtle look. The soles are also lightly distressed to match this vintage vibe with the appearance of oil staining on the otherwise white sole. The interior of the shoes has a waterproof/breathable lining that will keep your feet dry as long as your pants cover down to the third lace eyelet on the shoes. That is where the gaiter connects the tongue to the upper.
The shoes have internal polyurethane ankle protectors and thicker leather on the toe box for gear shifter protection. The anti-slip soles offer some rigidity but not much, so I’d rank these on the lower end of the protection spectrum and great for off the bike walking around all day. That should be fine for most commuters and urban riders.
The Stylmarting Iron WP riding shoes are a good waterproof option for urban commuters. Their comfort off the bike will appeal to those that walk around the office during the day and their lightweight protection will offer more than any casual shoe out there. :: Mike, 12/06/2022
