Our Two Cents

The NORU Baika Boot is a short top style for street riders who want a sport style. This boot features a well padded collar, a strap to cover the laces, and internal ankle armor on the outside of the foot.

I really like the initial comfort of this boot. The area around the ankle is very well padded and is covered with a sturdy feeling with man-made suede material covering the outside and a typical breathable 3D nylon lining the inside. The sides of the boot have a tough, somewhat breathable mesh material which will allow some airflow. This boot isn’t waterproof, so fair warning: fair weather riding only please; but with the breathable material, I think this shoe will probably be comfortable in a wide range of temps including summer. The sole is a low profile, more flat tread like you find on sport boots. The profile will fit easily under your shifter on a sportbike. On both boots, there is a plastic overlay over the toe to protect the boot from the shifter.

I feel an internal ankle armor unit over the outside ankle bone (but not over the inside ankle bone). The toe box and heel area are pretty well reinforced, and I can feel there is a stiffener in the sole between the heel and the ball of the foot. The Velcro strap over the instep adds some style and should be used to trap the ends of the boot laces to keep them from getting hung up on bike parts. Be sure to lace the boots fully… I found that the low height in the rear of the boot makes it easy for the boots to come off if they aren’t laced up fully.

Overall, I like this style and I think it offers most of the features of higher end boots that look pretty similar, but at a very reasonable price. :: Paul, 03-31-21
