Sizing Information

We find TCX boots to be very consistent in fit from one model to the next. We checked this boot and it too is consistent with other models. To choose a size, please click here to see the TCX size chart. The general width of TCX is “medium” or D to E. To compare to other brands you may have experience with, I’d say the overall fit is somewhere between a Sidi boot which is generally a bit more narrow, and an Alpinestars boot which has a more generous width.

Our Two Cents

The TCX Mood GTX shoes are a new offering since we last carried TCX.

These boots are a commuter/casual style with serious protection and waterproofing. The shoes look like a high-top leather sneaker style with their white “skate shoes” inspired soles.

Beneath that unassuming facade is a Gore-Tex waterproof, breathable membrane; a malleolus ankle protector covering both ankles; and a reinforced toe and heel counter. Also included in the box is a removable shift pad that covers the toe to reduce wear against the shifter. The pad has a black leather finish (on either black or brown shoe) and an elastic band that goes around the sole to hold it in place.

The soles are a thick rubber with grip areas that run counter to each other so you have good grip in various terrain, though at first glance they almost look like flat bottom shoes. This thick sole doubles as protection since these shoes do not have a shank.

The traditional lace closure keeps these shoes casually styled and the lack of a lace hold system means you’ll have to tie securely and stow them manually. Overall the boots are a great option for a commuter or urban rider who wants protection and waterproofing in a traditional looking shoe. :: Mike, 01-30-22
